Dubai International Airport (DXB) is preparing for one of its busiest travel periods of the year, with more than 3 million passengers expected to pass through its terminals during the first half of July as the UAE summer holiday season begins.
The travel surge is set to start on 2 July, ahead of school holidays, with 12 July forecast to be the busiest day, when more than 225,000 passengers are expected. Daily passenger numbers are projected to exceed 200,000, while around 50% of travellers will be transfer passengers, highlighting Dubai's role as one of the world's leading global aviation hubs.
To support the increased demand, Dubai Airports and its oneDXB partners have activated their summer operations plan. Travellers are encouraged to arrive no more than three hours before departure, complete online check-in where available, and use smart gates for faster immigration processing if eligible.
Passengers are also reminded to pack power banks and spare batteries in their hand luggage only and ensure they have the correct travel documents before arriving at the airport.
The busy summer period follows another record-breaking year for DXB, which welcomed 95.2 million passengers in 2025, the highest annual international passenger traffic ever recorded by any airport worldwide.
